Register for The TUFC 2026 Mini World Cup

Note: The tournament has now started. To view teams and fixtures, click the link below or download the Tournify App on Apple or Android , and search 'TUFC'. To find a players team, select 'My Team' and click the 'Show Players in Teams' toggle.

Templeogue United F.C. are delighted to welcome the return of the Mini World Cup. The competition will run from Tuesday 3rd June to Sunday 15th June 2025 and is suitable for all children from U7 to U13 Age Groups (born 2012-2018).

By default, Girls playing in the Boys & Girls Competition be placed in teams one year below their actual age (e.g. girls born 2012 will play with boys born 2013). They will have the option to play at their own age if they so wish.

There is also a Girls Only Competition for 2012 to 2018 age groups, and a one day Academy Competition for 2019 and 2020 age groups on Sunday 15th June. You can click here to register for the Academy Competition (all other registrations are now closed).

Last year we donated to St. Joseph's Special School. In 2025, our charity partner will be confirmed soon. For more details, please call Brian Jones on 085 706 9552 .

TUFC March Club Newsletter

�� Cup Football & Match Highlights

The month began with our 2017 group travelling to Northern Ireland to compete in the Ballymena United Youth Academy Cup (Spring Cup). The boys performed superbly throughout the tournament and were unlucky to lose narrowly in the final. A brilliant achievement and a fantastic experience for all involved.

Our 2014 side also impressed in their fixture against Raheny United, where the team produced some excellent football and a number of outstanding goals.

At national level, our U12 Girls Premier team delivered a superb performance in the SFAI All-Ireland Cup Quarter Final, defeating Aisling Annacotty 2-0 to progress to the semi-finals — a fantastic achievement for the group.

We also had mixed fortunes in the SFAI All-Ireland Cup on the boys’ side. Our U12 Premier Boys produced an outstanding performance to defeat St. Kevin’s Boys in the quarter-final, progressing to the latter stages of the competition.

Unfortunately, our U16 Boys, who reached the final of the competition last year, were narrowly beaten by St. Francis FC.

Hard luck to the players and management team — a strong group who continue to represent the club with distinction.

�� Seniors Pushing for Promotion

All Templeogue United senior sides are right in the mix and pushing hard for promotion as the season reaches a crucial stage.

With the longer evenings arriving, midweek football is fast approaching — bringing more games, more action, and more opportunities to support the teams.

We encourage everyone around the club to get down and show their support in the weeks ahead and help drive the push for promotion.

�� Community & Club Impact

As part of the All-Ireland Cup fixture, the club proudly raised €4,000 in support of the Kids Coach initiative and the new Autism Hub in Walkinstown. This reflects the strong community spirit that continues to define Templeogue United.

�� New Initiatives – Recognising Excellence

March saw the launch of our “Goal of the Week” feature, showcasing the best goals from across the club. Our first winner was Bobby Potts (U11s), who scored a fantastic goal away to River Valley Rangers.

In addition, we introduced our “Clean Sheet Hero” initiative to recognise the outstanding contributions of our goalkeepers. Our first recipient was Conor Walsh (U14s), who produced an excellent performance in a 3-0 win over St. Kevin’s Boys.

�� Player Development & Pathway

We continued to highlight our player pathway, focusing on former Templeogue United players now competing at National League level.

A special mention also goes to our U12 Premier Boys, where every player in the squad has been selected for the UCD Emerging Talent Programme (ETP) — a remarkable achievement and a testament to the quality within the group.

We also highlighted the resilience of Sean Ward, who has worked tirelessly to return from a serious ankle injury. Sean is now back training and we look forward to seeing him back in action with both the senior squad and our Over-35s team.

✈️ International Experience

Several teams represented the club abroad during March, most notably our U12s, who travelled to Portugal to compete in the Portimão International Cup. The team represented the club with distinction against strong international opposition, gaining invaluable experience.

⚽ Late Drama & Big Results

March closed with a dramatic and memorable victory for our U12 Premier Boys, who defeated St. Kevin’s Boys 2-1 in the SFAI Cup Quarter Final. A decisive extra-time winner from Jack Behan sealed a fantastic result and progression to the next round.

�� Memorable Moments

The final day of March captured everything that is great about our club:

- Sonny Curran, part of our 2021 Academy, stepped up to play with a 2018 age group — scoring a goal and delivering an outstanding performance well beyond his years

- Alongside them, our 2019 Girls played their first ever game against Railway Union — full of goals, energy, and smiles, marking a special milestone for the team

March has once again highlighted the strength of Templeogue United — from grassroots to elite level, from player development to community impact. The continued progress across all age groups is a testament to the hard work of our players, coaches, volunteers, and families.

We are currently exploring the development of a Football for All programme, aimed at creating inclusive opportunities for children and adults of all abilities to participate in a supportive and enjoyable environment.

As a first step, we are inviting expressions of interest from our members and the wider community.

All-Ireland Progression

It has been an incredible run for several Templeogue United teams on the All-Ireland stage, with three squads progressing after fantastic performances.

U16 Boys
Our U16 boys travelled to Mullingar Athletic and delivered a superb performance away from home to secure their place in the Quarter Finals. Playing with great discipline and composure, they showed the quality and determination that has defined their season so far.

U12 Premier Girls
Our U12 girls produced a brilliant away win against Shamrock Rovers , showing tremendous character and teamwork. It was a performance full of energy and belief, and one that the whole club is incredibly proud of and as for yesterday... WOW. Into the semi-finals now, just incredible

U12 Premier Boys
The U12 boys enjoyed an outstanding couple of results. First, a strong performance at home against Bridge United , followed by an impressive away victory against Salthill Devon , sealing their progression into the Quarter Finals

To have three Templeogue United teams progressing at national level is a fantastic achievement and a credit to the players, coaches and families who support them every week.

Emerging Talent Program

Our Sunday 11.1 group had the opportunity to travel over and take part in a Foundations Programme workshop delivered by the ETP coaching staff in Abbotstown. The session focused strongly on individual player development and provided a great experience for the lads. A thank you to the DDSL for the invitation.

Coaching Development – Darren Dillon Workshop

Off the pitch, we were delighted to welcome Darren Dillon to the club to deliver a Strength & Conditioning workshop for our coaches.

The session focused on helping coaches understand how to safely introduce strength, movement and athletic development into youth football sessions. It provided practical tools that can help players improve performance while also reducing injury risk.

Investing in the education and development of our coaches is a key priority for the club, and sessions like this ensure our players continue to benefit from the best possible environment.

A huge thanks to Darren for sharing his expertise.

Sold-Out Coerver Coaching Camp

We were also delighted to host another sold-out Coerver Coaching Camp at the club.

The camp once again proved hugely popular, giving players the chance to develop their skills, confidence and love for the game in a fun and positive environment.

It’s fantastic to see so many young players engaging with the game and enjoying their football at Templeogue United.

In Memory of Dick Dunne

Finally, we close this newsletter with a moment of reflection.

The club was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Dick Dunne , a much-loved member of the Templeogue United community.

Dick meant a great deal to many around the club, and his presence, kindness and support will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Our thoughts and condolences are with Dick’s family and friends at this difficult time.

May he rest in peace.

SFAI All Ireland Success

We are proud to have three teams remaining in the SFAI Cup.

Our Under 12 Premier Girls had an unforgettable win at home against Ballylanders FC to reach the final 16.
Our Under 12 Premier Boys will take on Bridge United in the Round of 32
Our Under 16 Premier Boys will take on Mullingar Athletic in the Round of 32.

Coerver Coach Education Clinic

We’d like to extend a huge thank you to all the coaches who attended the Coerver Coaching Education Clinic at Templeogue United. It was a fantastic day, featuring an in-house session on the Coerver approach to individual player development, followed by a practical on-pitch session that brought the methodology to life. We’re delighted to see the Coerver approach already being adopted within training and look forward to the positive impact it will continue to have across the club.

LFA Selection vs LSL Selection

Templeogue United was delighted to host a very special match on the recent Bank Holiday Monday, as a Leinster Senior League selection took on a Leinster Football Association selection. Managed by Andy McNulty and coached by Robbie Collins , the LFA side faced a Leinster Senior League team managed by Marc Kenny and coached by David Mooney , in a fantastic showcase of the 30 best players in Dublin. It was a superb game and one we’re extremely proud to have hosted — be sure to check out the brilliant photographs captured by Una Murray AKA Fast Twitch Photos.

Social Growth

We’d like to shine a quick light on Templeogue United’s growing success on social media. In January alone, our content recorded over 401,000 views, with staggering growth achieved over the past nine months — a testament to the brilliant engagement from our community. We’re also delighted to announce that Barry McCarthy has taken up the role of Head of Communications - joining The FDC , helping to further strengthen how we share news and stories across every aspect of the club; thank you for liking and subscribing, and if there’s ever something you’d like covered, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Barry or any member of the club team.

TUFC AWAY - 12.3s to West Brom

Our Under-12.3 Boys enjoyed an unforgettable trip to West Bromwich Albion , training at the West Bromwich Albion Academy and proudly serving as flag bearers at The Hawthorns for the top-of-the-table clash against Middlesbrough. The trip also included a friendly match against Enville Athletic, adding valuable game experience to an already incredible visit. It was a fantastic opportunity and a truly memorable experience for the boys.

RIP Eamonn Murray

We end this edition with the sad news of the passing of Templeogue United club legend Eamon Murray . Eamon served the club with distinction as both Club Manager and Honorary Club Secretary for 12 years, and without his dedication and tireless commitment, the club would not be where it is today. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time — may he rest in peace.

Coerver Coaching Partnership

We’re delighted to officially roll out our partnership with Coerver Coaching , a huge step forward for Templeogue United . Every player and every coach in the club now has full access to the Cover Coaching app, providing high-quality session plans, drills, and age-appropriate development content.

This partnership also includes ongoing coach education sessions and clinics , ensuring our coaches continue to learn, develop and deliver the best possible environment for our players — from academy right through to senior football.

We were thrilled to recently host a Cover Coaching Clinic at the club , with over 100 kids in attendance . It was a brilliant day of learning, energy and football, and a great example of how this partnership is already benefiting our community.

St. Stephen’s Day Family 5K

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our St. Stephen’s Day Run , whether you tackled the 5k or joined in the Kids 1k. It was a fantastic morning filled with positivity, community spirit and plenty of smiles.

The run was a great initiative and the perfect way to burn off some of the turkey and ham after Christmas Day. Thanks to all participants, volunteers and supporters who made it such a success.

Club Social Night

We are delighted to invite you to our TUFC Annual Club Night, taking place on Saturday 31st January in the club bar, starting at 7.00pm.

This is a great opportunity for coaches, parents, volunteers, and members to come together and enjoy a social night at the club.

There will be music and finger food provided on the night.

All are very welcome, and we hope to see as many of you as possible for an enjoyable evening with the TUFC community!

Coaches vs Seniors

Our Coaches vs Seniors match was everything it promised to be — competitive, entertaining and played in great spirit. It perfectly captured what Templeogue United is about: community, inclusion and football for all.

Matches like this reinforce the pathway we’re building at the club, from academy level right through to senior football, where everyone feels part of the same journey.

A big thank you to both teams for putting on such a great game, and special thanks to Hugh Kennedy and Johnny Feighery for organising the match.

A Special Visit from Santa & Academy Returns

We were delighted to welcome a very special guest as Santa paid a visit to the Templeogue United Foundations Academy , bringing plenty of excitement and smiles to our youngest members.

We’re also happy to confirm that the Templeogue United Foundations Academy returns this weekend , and we’re looking forward to seeing all our players back on the pitch for another great term of football and fun.

Old Man Football: Giving Back Again

A massive well done to our Old Man Football group, who once again raised money for charity through their weekly subs. This is a brilliant example of how football at Templeogue United goes beyond the pitch and gives back to the wider community.

Anna, Jack & Danny DDSL Selections

We’re delighted to share that three Templeogue United players - Jack Behan, Danny Duggan, and Anna Redmond have been selected for the DDSL U12 Emerging Talent Programmes . Jack and Danny earned their places in the DDSL U12 ETP after over 120 players were assessed, while Anna has been chosen for the Girls U12 Premier Emerging Talent Programme. This is a fantastic achievement for all three players and a testament to their hard work, attitude, and talent. The entire club is incredibly proud of them, and we wish Jack, Danny, and Anna every success as they take this exciting next step in their football journeys.

TUFC Young Guns Travel To Liverpool

One of the standout moments this month was a major club trip as four TUFC squads (Under 9.1, 10.1, 11.1 and 12.1) travelled to Merseyside for an unforgettable football weekend.

Our teams had the incredible opportunity to play versus Liverpool FC at the world-class AXA Training Centre, a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our players, coaches and families.

The trip also included fixtures at Chester FC , giving our players fresh challenge.

The tour in partnership with LLS Your Tours was a huge success and the FDC will be keen to make a permanent part of our football calendar.

TUFC Seniors Travel To Liverpool

It wasn't just the young guns that travelled east, our Senior Division 3 squad also made the journey to Liverpool this month, enjoying great team bonding and proudly representing TUFC abroad vs FC DY in the inaugural O’Neill Cup. Shout out to Josh Holden , who got Player Of The Match.

Team Success — November Round-Up

Major 1s Hit a Huge 7–1 Win

A commanding performance saw the Major 1 side put seven past St. Pats CY, featuring a Ben McDonald hat-trick and excellent contributions from Adam Kelly, Alex Trofim, and Finn Doogan. Adam O’Hare earned Man of the Match.

U12 Girls Through in the SFAI Cup

A strong 3–0 win over Railway Union pushed our U12 Premier Girls through to the next round of the SFAI Cup. Brilliant teamwork and composure.

Troy Parrott Hat-Trick Scenes

One of the standout social moments this month came inside the TUFC clubhouse, where members gathered to watch Ireland vs, Hungary or Domo vs Domo — and witnessed Troy Parrott score a superb international hat-trick . The excitement and energy on the night captured everything we love about the TUFC community — pride, passion, and a shared love for the game. Sauna Sixty Six Is A Hit

Towards the end of November we welcomed Eli, Rob and Luke the lads behind Sauna Sixty Six to the club. The message is simple, drop down, jump in, heat up and chill out. In the first weekend alone the lads raised over €800 for The Movember Charity. They'll be back this weekend, so book in fast!

Christmas at TUFC

As we head into the festive season, we want to wish all our players, coaches, parents, and supporters a very Happy Christmas . It’s been an incredible year for the club, and we’re grateful for every moment of support, teamwork, and dedication.

�� Marie Crowe Wins Goss.ie News Industry Award

Huge congratulations to our very own Marie Crowe , who was honoured with The News Industry Award at the 2025 Goss.ie Women of the Year Awards ! ��

This award recognises Marie’s tireless work on the powerful “Girls in Green” investigation and documentary — shining a light on female voices in Irish sport. Her integrity, belief, and passion make this achievement so well deserved.

We’re incredibly proud to have Marie as part of the Templeogue United Executive Team . ��

�� Support For Ultan

The thoughts and support of everyone at Templeogue United remain with Ultan and the O’Neill family. The outpouring of support from across our community has been incredible.

A special mention to Sean O’Neill , who ran the Dublin Marathon this month to raise funds in support of his brother. Sean’s determination and family spirit are an inspiration to us all - a true reflection of the Templeogue United ethos. ��

The Foundations Academy Halloween Camps , led by Richie Towell , were a massive success once again! It was great to see so many young players took part in fun, high-quality sessions focused on skill, confidence, and teamwork - all with a Halloween twist. ��

�� International Honour – Laila Hurley Called Up for Ireland

We’re so proud of former TUFC player Laila Hurley , who was selected for the Tom Elmes Ireland Girls’ U16 team! ��⚽

Laila traveled to Prague for two international friendlies against Czechia — an incredible milestone and experience for this talented young player. We can hardly forget the great Katie McCabe, former TUFC player who collected her 100th cap this month also - incredible!

�� Dane Massey’s Dundalk Triumph

Huge congratulations to our own Dane Massey! �� Dane, a key part of our Templeogue United Over-35s squad and first-team coach at Dundalk FC , celebrated a massive achievement as Dundalk were crowned League of Ireland First Division champions , securing their return to the Premier Division ! A PFAI Team of the Decade member, Dane’s leadership and professionalism continue to inspire both within our club and across Irish football. Well done, Dane — the whole TUFC family is proud! ��⚪

�� Conor Kearns’ Goalkeepers Anonymous Camp

Well done to Shelbourne's Conor Kearns, who hosted an outstanding Goalkeepers Anonymous camp this month. The ex TUFC stopper's sessions gave our young keepers a chance to sharpen their skills, build confidence, and learn from one of Ireland’s top professionals.

The enthusiasm and focus across all sessions were exceptional — great work, Conor, and well done to everyone who took part!

�� FDC Updates and Development

Folllowing on from our FDC announcement last month, the FDC held two coaches information sessions this month to update on a variety of topics from our FAI Club Mark ambitions, to coach education and trips and travel guidance.

�� Be a Rock for Rory

Our TUFC Under 8.1s are proud to wear a jersey that stands for more than football. Sponsored by Coach Sean Cavin , godfather of Rory , this special kit was created in support of his godson back home in the United States — a brave young boy preparing for another kidney transplant. We’re proud that through this gesture, Sean, his team, and the wider Templeogue United family can show Rory that even though we’re far apart, we’re all right behind him. ��

⚽ New Football Development Committee

Firstly, w e are pleased to confirm the establishment of a new Football Development Committee (FDC). This group will play a key role in supporting coaches, aligning our player pathway, and shaping the long-term direction of football development at the club. The following roles and appointments have been made:

�� Jonathan Feighery Appointed New Club Secretary

I am delighted to welcome Jonathan Feighery as our new Club Secretary replacing "the irreplaceable" John Cannon . JF brings great energy and organisation to the role, and I’m confident this appointment will help strengthen the running of the club. Thank you to everyone who supported a smooth handover.

�� A Sincere Thank You

I’d like to personally thank all outgoing volunteers and coaches for their effort and support for the club over the past season. A special shout out to Johnny Johnston and Andy McNulty for their commitment, passion, and contribution to Templeogue United over the past few years. Their hard work and dedication have made a lasting impact on players and fellow coaches alike, and they leave with our very best wishes for the future. I have not given up hope of getting them back involved in some capacity as soon as possible.

�� Growth of the Girls’ Section

Our girls’ section continues to thrive, with record participation and multiple teams competing across a range of age groups. It’s fantastic to see the enthusiasm and teamwork within this side of the club. For the first time in 16 years we have a girls under-12 Premier Team, who have made an unbeaten start to the season. A huge thank you to our volunteer coaches, coordinators, and parents for driving this growth — you are inspiring the next generation of players.

The TUFC Foundations Academy got off to a flying start. The new academy led by Richie Towell will run all year round from 08:45 to 10:00 every Sunday morning. In addition Richie will oversee a number of coaching and development initiatives, taking TUFC to the next level.

Templeogue United Foundations Academy

Templeogue United FC is proud to announce a landmark partnership with ex-professional footballer Richie Towell, who will play an active role in our academy restructure, Templeogue United Foundations Academy.

From September 2025, our Academy will introduce a new structure designed to provide every player with a clear pathway, from first kicks to senior football — what we call “Football for Life.”

By investing in the right structures, resources, and leadership, we are creating an environment where every player — recreational or elite — can thrive.

Building For The Future

At Templeogue United, we believe football should be a journey — not just a game. Our new Academy Restructure, led by Richie Towell, is designed to give every player the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive, whatever their ambitions. From the first time a child pulls on a jersey to competing at senior level, our pathway is built to support them every step of the way

As part of this restructure, Richie Towell will oversee a number of academy initiatitives:

Reaching Out in Support of the O'Neill Family

Dear Friends,

We are reaching out to you with a heartfelt request to consider donating in support of the O'Neill family from Templeogue United Football Club. The O’Neill’s have been deeply involved with the club for 30 years, and their dedication and passion are truly inspiring.

Tragically, the family has faced immense challenges. Twenty years ago, they lost their 15-year-old son, Tiernan, to cancer. Now, their 17-year-old son, Ultan, has been diagnosed with cancer. It's unimaginable that any family should have to endure this twice.

Your donation is our way of bringing some light into a dark time for the O’Neill Family -to show how much they mean to us and to help ease at least one of many pressures they are facing. All proceeds will go directly to the family to use in whatever way supports them best.

Together for the O’Neills – Limited Edition Fundraiser Jersey Now Available

Templeogue United’s Over 35s team has launched a very special jersey – not just for the love of football, but for the love of one of our own families.

Inspired by the iconic Bohemian FC x Oasis collaboration, this one-off design carries a deeper meaning for our club. It’s a show of strength, unity, and support for the O’Neill family — true Templeogue legends who have been at the heart of our club for over 30 years.

A Family That Gave Everyting

The O’Neills have been lifelong supporters, players, and volunteers at Templeogue United. But tragedy has touched their lives not once, but twice.

Their son Tiernan tragically passed away from cancer at the age of 15. And now, heartbreakingly, their 17-year-old son Ultan is facing his own battle with cancer.

This jersey is more than fabric – it’s a tribute to the O’Neill family’s resilience, and a way for our community to stand firmly beside them during this unimaginable time.

Every Purchase, Every Share, Every Cent Matters

All proceeds from the jersey sales go directly to the O’Neills. Whether it’s to ease financial pressure or simply show them they’re not alone, every contribution helps.

The jersey may echo a famous design, but this one is uniquely ours. It’s a grassroots fundraiser, built on friendship, loyalty, and the belief that football clubs should always look after their own.

The jersey is modelled by Over 35s players Dane Massey, Mark Leech, Patrick Cowzer and Barry McCarthy. Additional shots feature Samantha Forrest.

Star-Studded Gala Night Announced in Support of the O’Neill Family Fund

TUFC, in proud support of the O’Neill Family Fund, is delighted to announce an unforgettable Gala Night of Entertainment. Taking place on Thursday, 21st August at the National Basketball Arena, the evening promises a spectacular mix of music, magic, comedy, and dance.

The event runs from 7:30pm to 10:30pm, with doors opening at 6:30pm. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to soak up the atmosphere and secure the best seats.

TEMPLEOGUE UNITED CLUBHOUSE DEVELOPMENT RAFFLE 2024

The new development at TUFC will consist of state of the art unisex dressing room facilities with showers and toilets within the main changing rooms. Our general toilet facilities are being completely rebuilt to comply with the latest building regulations and specifications. We will now have a small canteen area for coaches and referees to make refreshments on match day or training. The entrance lobby will be completely demolished and will now cater for an open area for public/club mingling where people can sit and relax at their leisure.

On the right-hand side, we are carrying out a complete demolition and creating an 85 sq mtr open matted gym/ warm-up area with full wheelchair access toilet and shower facilities. To the back of this area, we are extending out of the back of the building to accommodate an indoor astro facility for training and technical drills. Above this area, we will have a new viewing area overlooking the All Weather Pitch that will be accessed from the bar or through a new staircase to the rear. Once the works are completed, the outside footpaths, steps, etc. will be fully wheelchair compliant, and we expect a finish date of of August 2024.

"This Project is going to cost in excess of €500,000. Thanks to the amazing support of the capital sports grant, we were awarded €150,000 for this project, but we need to raise significant funds to ensure we can continue to offer all our members the best facilities possible. This is the next step after delivering pitch 23 and our co-investment in the resurfacing of the All Weather Pitch with our neighbours and partners, St. Judes. A big thank you to the fundraising committee and the sponsors who have been so generous to date. Templeogue United F.C. Announce the Return of The Academy

Templeogue United F.C. are delighted to announce the return of our Academy following the break for Covid-19. The Academy will now run from 9.00am to 10.15am each Sunday on the new Astro turf.

New Astro Turf Requirements
All players are required to wear the correct moulded football boots (no metal studs or blades) and parents will be required to observe the session from outside the turf.

Your child's enjoyment, learning and the fun they have at every one of our sessions is vital to our success.
