The Academy

The Academy is open to both boys and girls and is now run in partnership with former professional footballer and Foundations Academy Founder, Richie Towell. 

Sessions introduce children to the basic principles of football while encouraging teamwork, social interaction, and respect for others. 

Activities include age-appropriate skill development, plenty of time on the ball, and fun-filled exercises that keep children motivated and excited to play.

The Foundations Academy is designed specifically for children aged 4 to 7, providing them with a positive and enjoyable first experience of football. At this age, children benefit from a coaching approach that blends patience, encouragement, and fun, helping them to build confidence while developing fundamental skills.

Our mission is simple: to deliver the highest quality football coaching for young children. Each session is carefully structured to ensure enjoyment, learning, and engagement, and is overseen by the Club Coach, delivered by qualified coaches, and supported by parent volunteers.

The Foundations Academy is the important first step on our Football for Life Pathway. After completing this stage, children progress through our structured age-group teams, continuing to develop their skills, teamwork, and love of the game. 

From the youngest teams right up to our senior squads, Templeogue United provides every player with the opportunity to grow, compete, and enjoy football at every stage of their journey.

Academy registrations are managed through ClubZap, each player fully registered will receive shorts, tees, socks and jackets. You can click here to register now, there are 3 simple steps to get set up on our ClubZap app.

Step 1: Download the ClubZap App

1. Go to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
2. Search for ClubZap and install.
3. Open the app and select Templeogue United as your club.

Step 2: Pay Membership

1. Tap the Clubhouse icon (bottom left).
2. Select Membership.
3. Choose one: 'New Member' (if joining for the first time) or 'Renew' (if you're an existing member).
4. You’ll receive an email with a link to complete the process.
5. Select Academy.
6. Enter your child’s details and select the correct age group (year of birth).
7. Enter your own details (parent/guardian).
8. Select your payment option.
9. Complete payment securely.

Step 3: Join Your Child’s Age Group Chat

1. Open ClubZap.
2. Tap the Chat button (bottom of the screen).
3. Tap the red (+) button.
4. Choose the Academy group for your child’s age group.

Once completed, you’ll receive updates, schedules, and communication directly through ClubZap.
